OCEANS IN DANGER
Every breath you take is generated by the oceans, which nowadays are in danger. More than 5 trillion plastic pieces invade them.
This plastic is accumulated in 5 "garbage islands" that are currently floating around the world, the largest one, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, is located between Hawaii and California. If left to its free circulation, this plastic will impact our ecosystems, health and economies.
THE SOLUTIONS ARE IN OUR DECISIONS
From 2019, all of our sneakers are made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles and industrial recycled plastics. We also substitute conventional cotton that has been cultivated with pesticides by organic cotton (grown only with water) and recycled cotton.
For every pair of shoes you buy, you recycle 4 plastic bottles.
COLLABORATION WITH WASTE FREE OCEANS
We incide directly on the consequence of the problem using recycled plastics to create the sneakers. We also help with monthly donations to the collection of ocean garbage.
In this sense, we work hand-in-hand with Waste Free Oceans.
Waste Free Ocean is an organization whose objective is to clean the garbage of the oceans that humans have generated and dumped during the last decades.
Connecting local fishermen, recycling companies, manufacturers and political agents, Waste Free Oceans aims to reduce, recycle and finally reuse marine waste.
Connecting fishermen with companies to transform sea plastic into new products.
Fishermen daily collect garbage with the nets of their boats.
That garbage is classified into containers according to their properties and is cleaned and then converted into resin.
Plastic converters transform the resins to create the raw materials needed to be sold to the industry.
Brands and companies buy these raw materials and turn them into products that they will sell to the market.
